Melanie True, Valentina Fakrogha, Aelo Curtis and Sadie Engelhardt lifted Ventura High from California to a national high school outdoor record of 11:21.85 in the girls distance medley relay at the 64th Mt. SAC Relays Presented by Nike at Hilmer Lodge Stadium in Walnut, Calif. Ventura eclipsed the 11:22.23 performance produced by Amy Weissenbach, K.C. Cord, Lauren Hansson and Cami Chapus from Harvard-Westlake High of California at the 2011 New Balance Nationals Outdoor Championships in North Carolina. Only the efforts of Cuthbertson High in North Carolina (11:17.50) and Flower Mound High from Texas (11:20.65) at New Balance Nationals Indoor in March in Boston have been faster on the absolute list in U.S. prep history than Ventura, which had Engelhardt run the 1,600-meter anchor leg in 4:33.95.
