Sadie Engelhardt, a freshman at Ventura High in California, won the girls mile in 4:38.40 at Nike Outdoor Nationals at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Engelhardt became the first California female athlete to capture the national title since 1991. She also improved from placing 15th last year in 4:51.57.
