Sadie Engelhardt, a sophomore at Ventura High in California, discusses her return to Balboa Park in San Diego to compete at the Champs Sports Cross Country Championships. Engelhardt, the California Division 2 state champion, placed 15th as a freshman at the national final last year. She is looking to become the first girls winner from California since Claudia Lane of Malibu captured back-to-back titles in 2016-17 and the 11th overall female champion from the state in meet history.
